Throughout the months of September and October, the UCL Guild has worked to select a cohort of first year representatives (FYRs). This year, committee members had the pleasure of interviewing a multitude of incredible candidates, and we were very impressed with the quality of applications. After a long process, we’re excited to welcome a group of incredible FYRs to our 2020/21 team. Read on to find out more.
Bryan currently studies statistics, economics, and finance student at UCL. He’s from Malaysia, and prior to studying at UCL, he’s never visited the United Kingdom. As a first year representative, he can’t wait to put together some fantastic conferences and events, and looks forward to meeting some like-minded people.
Originally from Hong Kong, Joyce is an ice-cream aficionado studying maths and statistics at UCL. In her spare time, she enjoys playing a variety of sports. Coming into the Guild, she looks forward to bringing fresh ideas and new perspectives.
Mukund is an economics student at UCL hailing from Mumbai, India. For a fun fact, he cites having practiced meditation from the age of seven. Aside from this, Mukund is an avid public speaker with previous MUN and TEDx involvement. This year, he looks forward to connecting with the vibrant community that is the UCL Guild.
Karolina is studying a BSc in Bioprocessing of New Medicines and Business Management at UCL. Although she’s originally from Poland, she has also lived in three other countries. This year, she’s excited to bring people together in spite of Covid-19, particularly through Guild events.
Woojin is originally from the United States, and studies HPE at UCL. Prior to studying at UCL, Woojin was pursuing a musical performance degree, and has played cello for about twelve-and-a-half years. As part of the UCL Guild, Woojin hopes to learn more about different fields.
Matteo is a mechanical engineering student from Italy. He is extremely passionate about sports, having been part of competitive skiing and football teams prior to university. This year, he hopes to help UCL Guild members understand the business world in greater depth, whilst having fun at the same time.

We are also excited to bring Ben Freeman on board to our Watch.Listen.Read Weekly team. Ben is a Biomedical Sciences student at UCL with a passion for writing. Prior to joining the UCL Guild, he worked at startup travel magazine Beau Monde and is currently the Creative Editor of Kinesis. Ben looks forward to writing more, whilst learning about the world of business.
